Education of Excellence
Our modern teaching methods ensure our children receive an education of excellence, open to the world but rooted in Haitian culture. The French Lycée of New York (LFNY) is a close partner and provides academic guidance, as well as program and on the ground support to our teachers. The French Lycée of Port-au-Prince (Haiti) is also a partner.
The use of technology in the classroom is a priority; to enable this a campus-wide computer network was completed in January 2016. The school curriculum also emphasizes the importance of long-term sustainability, environmental responsibility and civic responsibility.
We provide a tri-lingual education in Creole, French and English. The objective is to enable our students to take and pass the Haitian and French baccalaureates.
In June 2018 we graduated our first primary school class, welcoming our original cohort of students into the 7th Grade. This class is the first to enter our new secondary school facilities.
Our Commitment to Girls Education
In September 2018, 2/3 of our incoming PK students were girls. We are committed to maintaining this ratio because we recognize the importance of educating girls in Haiti.
Current initiatives include:
Increased enrollment of girls.
Further developing our STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) education and a maker-space in which girls can learn to grow as scientists, mathematicians, artists, and makers.
Sex education programs.
Recruiting female educators and role models.
